Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
This page explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on automationarchitects.ai, and how you control them.
The short version
We use a small number of essential cookies to make the site work. Everything else — analytics and behavioural tracking — only runs if you accept it. If you decline, those tags never fire. The site works either way.
What cookies are
Small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to function; others watch how the site is used so we can improve it. Similar technologies (local storage, tracking pixels, session recording scripts) do comparable things, and we treat them the same way here.
What we use
Strictly necessary — always on
These keep the site working and secure. They don't track you across other sites, and they can't be switched off.
| Cookie / technology | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Consent preference | Remembers your cookie choice so we stop asking | 6 months |
| Google reCAPTCHA | Tells humans from bots on our forms | Session |
| Firebase Hosting | Serves and load-balances the site | Session |
Analytics — only with your consent
These help us see which pages are useful and where people get stuck. The data is pseudonymous — we're looking at patterns, not individuals.
| Service | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Pages viewed, time on site, traffic source, country, device, interactions | Up to 14 months |
| Google Tag Manager | Manages the tags above | Session |
| Microsoft Clarity | Aggregated session behaviour and heatmaps | Up to 12 months |
We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies, and we don't run ad-targeting pixels.
Your choice
When you first visit, you'll see a banner with two options:
- Accept — analytics runs, and you help us improve the site
- Reject — analytics never loads; only the essential cookies above are used
Declining costs you nothing. No features are withheld, and we don't re-ask on every page.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in our footer at any time. Rejecting after previously accepting stops future collection.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings — though blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
Why we ask
POPIA treats non-essential tracking as something you should agree to first, not something done to you by default. That's why our analytics tags are blocked until you choose, rather than loading on arrival.
